Hilary Rosen said that Ann Romney never worked a day in her life. Ann Romney has never worked a day in her life outside of her home, and this makes her quite privileged. I assume she has been a fine mother, but when it comes to understanding what working mothers with children must endure, Mrs. Romney has no clue.
Since Mrs. Romney cares so much about motherhood, maybe she can find it in her to discuss some sort of policy with her husband which might help working mothers, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Insensitivity works that way. Let them eat cake.

Newt: What happened to the Tea Party?
This is what it adds up to: Newt Gingrich is the Republican front-runner.
Here is the beginning of Dan Eggen's column in the Washington Post today:
After he left Congress, GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich made tens of millions of dollars from corporate clients, who paid his health-care think tank up to $200,000 a year for “access to top transformational leadership across industry and government.” Gingrich also bragged about his success in pushing conservative policies and legislation in Washington during his political exile.

Yet the former House speaker insists that he has never been a lobbyist.

GOP Politics: Positively Wall Street Meets Night of the Living Dead
Outrageousness will get you votes if you are a Republican; honesty will kill you. It is a Bizarro world with little redeeming value when Mitt Romney, professional liar with many years of experience at it must fight to compete with the likes of Newt Gingrich, who dumb people find brilliant. I just see him buying a gold rope like a blustery rapper -- I take him seriously like I took the artistry of Vanilla Ice seriously. The brother just wants power and money. Michelle Bachmann is a crazy hag, ranting about whatever pops out of her mouth as her eyes get bigger and bigger and the veins in her forehead near her horns grow ready to burst. Herman Cain has played the race card, gender card, and player card -- he is all out of Aces. Ron Paul is straight, and Jon Huntsman does not have the stomach for the slime. Rick Santorum would be better off as a member of the Taliban; he loves social restrictions, hates freedom unless it's his own, and wants men to have bigger weapons. What the F is Tim Pawlenty doing in this photo?
Craziest of all is that all of the losers are in line for massive paydays, lobbying jobs, and speaking engagements as rich white people will pay them handsomely to inspire them to make their anger tangible.
Worst are the "reasonable" pundits like the New York Times David Brooks, who in every case are consciously incompetent, knowing full well that the Republicans they defend on a daily basis have screwed everyone in the country who is not rich. It's a low down dirty shame.

The New Church Picnic
Representative Steve King comparing the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street movement said:
"The differences we have are that I don't know of any member of the Tea Party that's been arrested," he said. "They are a peaceful group of people that could just as well be the folks at my church picnic.

Mitt Romney
If, as Mitt Romney say, Corporations are people, too," then I am going to try to leave my wife for Victoria's Secret.

How Groupon Affirms Me
It's free for the vendor. It's discounted. It offers 35% off. They offer huge discounts off the "best stuff my city has to offer." Lucky me! I don't need to fight for quality taxpayer funded education -- just give me a scissors printer.
I now have the privilege to receive a daily discount from Groupon or LivingSocial or some other company that has my best interest and happiness in mind. As Sally Field said, "They like me. they really like me!
By my calculations, if I save 37% on the bottle ofReunite Lambrusco a fine Ernest and Julio Gallo's California Chardonnay, I will not only save money, but get the joy of walking up to a non-unionized member of our nearly minimum wage service sector and show her how we successful middle-class strivers do it! Not only do I save on this heavily discounted item which I didn't really want and still churns a modest profit for store and bottler, but I also feel dignified.
All I can say is, "What a great country!"
